Freshwater Bay

Sup Launch Location:
Freshwater Bay:  The Esplanade, Peppermint Grove. Launch from The Esplanade or from Keanes Reserve end of Johnson Street. (Mosman Bay Sea Scouts Group). I like launching from here if I’m heading to Freo as you don’t have the extra paddle around the Freshwater Bay yacht pen.

Parking:
Free parallel parking along The Esplanade, Peppermint Grove. Very popular in Summer so parking could be a problem.

Ablution Facilities:
There is a new building being built where the old cafe and ablutions used to be. To be updated.

BBQ & Picnic Areas:
Lovely grassy picnic area right on the foreshore. BBQ’s on the other side near the Mosman bay Sea Scouts Club.

Cafes:
To be advised. New building under construction.

Safety Notes/General Comments:
Be mindful of submerged tree branches and old jetty posts near the river’s edge. Check wind conditions before heading out as this can be a choppy section but beautiful when the wind is low. Heavy boat traffic including big ferries if you venture out of the bay.

This is a great practice area. Or, just enjoy cruising around the boat moorings and enjoy the bay. Dolphins often spotted here.
